Purpose

This website uses a map of the railway lines of Great Britain to provide an easy way of finding which National Rail Timetables detail services for the network's stations. As the map doesn't show all the stations, services for the unmarked stations are associated with the section of line on which they occur.

How to use

A left click/tap on a station circle or a railway line will pop-up a list of the timetables that give details of the passenger trains that serve that station or serve the, possibly unmarked, stations on that line. If a timetable number appears bold, that timetable includes all the services that use that station/line. If a timetable number appears in a smaller font its services are a subset of another timetable's services (and other timetables, between them, show all the services that use that station/line). If a timetable number is underlined that timetable shows services to unmarked stations on the line.

Below the list of timetable numbers three buttons are displayed (larger), (smaller) and (delete). Left click/tap on these to make the pop-up font larger, smaller or to delete it.

A left click/tap on a timetable number in the pop-up will open the relevant timetable PDF file. If the browser does not support displaying PDFs it often gives the option to choose an app to open the PDF.

A right click/long press on a timetable number in the pop-up will highlight the stations/lines that the timetable serves and the timetable pop-ups will disappear. A subsequent left click/tap anywhere will remove the highlighted stations/lines and the pop-ups will re-appear.

A menu button is displayed in the top left hand corner of the browser screen. Hovering over it will show a dropdown list which provides the following facilities:

• The ability to open the Welcome Page PDF file
• The ability to open the Table Index PDF file
• The ability to open the Stations Index PDF file
• The ability to open the Notes & Symbols PDF file
• The ability to open the Mileages PDF file
• A means to open any Timetable or show its routes by inputting the timetable number into the input field and clicking on the appropriate button. The number doesn't have to include the leading zeroes as displayed in the Stations Index PDF

The map can be scrolled or zoomed in the normal way using mouse, touch pad or on-screen gestures.
